Fundraising Success -
For a lot of people choosing a charity to support, for a personally challenging event lies close to heart. It would be good to afford some web space for people to 'spill' their thoughts and feelings re raising funds for such a worthy cause.......a 'Wall of Honour' maybe

Hi Carole, thanks for your post.

You're right that the stories behind why people are fundraising are really important to us and act as a constant inspiration for us, other fundraisers and, of course, the people sponsoring you.

When we relaunched the website this time last year, one of the key ideas was to include as many personal stories as possible that's why one of the most important parts of the new look site was the Book of Experience that allowed our members to tell their stories in their own words.

The idea behind the Book of Experience was always to include everyone associated with the charity whether they have been affected by the disease, a researcher on one of the many research projects we fund or one of the thousands of fundraisers who allow us to continue to fund our vital work.

We're always on the look out for anyone willing to tell their story and we're beginning to build up a collection of covering a wide range of events. To give you an idea here are a few examples that are on site already.

These stories appear on the homepage and throughout the site on the right hand side of the page. Once we get sufficient stories we are hoping to launch a new section of the site that will bring all the stories together in one place and will also allow you to search to find someone who doing a particular type of event.

If you'd like to add your experiences to the site just email a photo and your story to ianb@meningitis.org

We are also always on the look out for guest bloggers to write updates about their fundraising, how the training is going and then, of course, what the big day was like. Already on site we have
You can start your own blog today by clicking here.

We try to give as many new stories as possible coverage on our Facebook and Twitter pages so if you are fundraising it's a great way to spread the word about what you're doing and hopefully attract a few new sponsors
