We rely on donations to do our work - to help us achieve our vision of a world free from meningitis and septicaemia
Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF) was delighted to win two awards at this year’s Communiqué Awards, in the categories of Best Use of Data Visualisation and Charitable Campaign of the Year. We are very proud that our life-saving work has been recognised at such a prestigious event. The Communiqué Awards recognise, reward and commend excellence and best practice in healthcare communications. Entrants come from across the full spectrum of healthcare communication activity, from pharmaceutical companies to charities such as MRF. Our first award of the night was the Best Use of Data Visualisation award for the Meningitis Progress Tracker (MPT), which brings the impact of meningitis to life for the first time.
“The Meningitis Progress Tracker was impressive all round. A highly important disease awareness/action campaign underpinned by a clear understanding of the data challenges and how to address these. We saw very specific objectives that were then effectively evaluated with impressive outcomes and a very detailed rollout. A brilliant project in both concept design and execution and a clear winner.” - Communiqué judges comments
Next, MRF were victorious in the Charitable Campaign of the Year category, for supporting the Defeating Meningitis campaign. By engaging global health experts and decision-makers, MRF drove a call to action and provided a platform for those affected to have a voice. Targeted campaigning efforts and working with partners led to the first-ever global plan to defeat meningitis created by the World Health Organization, and the world's first resolution on meningitis approved by the World Health Assembly.
“Defeating Meningitis had a clear focus on decision makers with very positive outcomes. They really understood who they needed to target to make a change. Meningitis Research Foundation had real clarity from beginning to end, very clear on what needed to be done and how to do it. Plus focused on who the decision makers were. They did an incredible amount of work. This is a winner.” - Communiqué judges comments
