We rely on donations to do our work - to help us achieve our vision of a world free from meningitis and septicaemia
The South Lancashire Counties Football League has raised almost £700 for Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF) after one of the players suffered a bereavement due to meningitis.
Craig Halliwell, the League Secretary explained, “The league’s division 2 cup is named the Charity Cup and anyone connected with the league can nominate a charity each season. MRF was nominated to be the charity for the 2016/17 football season by one of the teams, Clay Brow FC from Skelmersdale, after one of their players sadly lost a child to meningitis.”
The club raised funds at the charity cup matches through entrance fees and collections at the cup finals and on presentation night.
MRF accepted a cheque and a Charity Cup Donation Recipient Plate at the club’s AGM.
