I was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis on 5th October 2017.

I was treated with IV Vamcomycin only for 4 days. I wasn't responding to treatment until I was given IV Cefotaxime 4 hourly and IV Vamcomycin 12 hourly and was very lucky to get well in just 7 days.

I was released from hospital, but I had to go back to collect injections from the hospital. After like 2 weeks I started to feel uncomfortable with my neck until I tie the neck with neck collar, then my legs started shaking which made me to be nervous.

I went for a follow up and was told that am having complications of meningitis. Am still treating the complications and am getting better.

I am very lucky to have survived meningitis without losing anything in my body. People are now calling me "Maryam the Fighter"
